FIX FORWARD HEAD POSTURE

Health Tip – Tomorrow, at 12pm, you can’t miss the Body Alignment class. Live on Zoom! I will be teaching how to address the common postural issue: forward head. 

Because of the long hours we spend looking at a computer screen, or at the phone, the human body starts adapting into keeping your head forward, off alignment. As consequence, the muscles at your neck, chest, and shoulders become tight, compromising not only the posture, but your breathing pattern. With the use of two lacrosse balls. or tennis balls, and a sock, we will work on releasing tight muscles, followed by stretches, and specific exercises to realign the neck, and address the forward head posture.

It is impossible to not talk about breathing, when trying to address posture. Improve breathing, and posture will get better. Improve posture, and breathing will get better. The forward head posture can happen as consequence of lack of proper breathing. When breathing with the diaphragm becomes compromised, the muscles at your neck, chest, and lower back become overactive, and tight.

45min class mixing up muscle release, stretch, and strengthening for better body alignment, and posture. Use two lacrosse balls, or tennis balls, and a socket, to relieve tension at upper traps (muscles between shoulders, and neck). This will improve posture, breathing, and relieve tension at the neck and shoulders.
