Fitness… A discovery journey

Why you can’t achieve your fitness goals?
Understanding who you are might dictate the best pathway to take

Health tip: Every person is different. One recipe for living doesn’t apply to all of us. Some people have a hard time dealing with anxiety and that can be influenced by what you ingest each day. Coffee intake, or food loaded with sugar, might spike more anxiety, which can trigger more food intake, more stress, keeping our bodies at an alert state. The results are water retention, digestion difficulties, and food intake being stored as fat.

On the other hand, other people might be struggling because they have no energy; even getting out of bed might be a struggle. Perhaps they can make some adjustments in their diet and have a gentler start to their day. That person might not suffer from water retention, but they are not drinking enough water. Digestion could improve with drinking more water and following specific eating guidelines that promote more energy.

Understanding who you are and being able to describe your own personality might be the key to overcoming your battle with fitness and wellness. For instance, I’m already a highly anxious person, and once I take a bite of a cookie, I can’t stop eating. And I LOVE coffee. But recently I noticed that too much coffee without much movement results in an aggravated state for me (and I didn’t have this issue before the restrictions started in March).

Two days ago I decided to stop drinking coffee. This solution is already showing positive results, as I noticed that in this short period of time, I am much calmer. Less overall stress and less food intake result in better nights of sleeping.

Your homework for this week is to ask yourself: WHO ARE YOU? What kind of workouts do you like? Why do you dislike yoga? Are you a hard worker? Is it hard for you to turn off your mind? Are you an emotional eater?

See you tomorrow at 8am!
