UNWIND. RESET. RESTART

Stepping back, and slowing down, might sound like being less productive…
Maybe that means: becoming more efficient…

Change in the schedule: Tomorrow morning/Tuesday I will be teaching a quick 30-minute stretching sequence at 8am. I strongly recommend this to anyone who is interested in a class that will help A LOT with relieving joint pain, improving posture, and starting your day in a calmer, more relaxed way. I’m 100% sure you will become way more productive.

Health tip: I keep repeating to people and to myself: “You are not a machine.” It is not an easy lesson to learn because we tend to think that we should use all our time for work as demands increase. The truth is, even a new car needs a break. If you keep stepping on the accelerator, it will eventually perform worse and breakdown.

Try to find time to just lie down and relax—it’s never a waste of time. It is an opportunity to unwind, reset, and restart. Someone I look up to told me, “Instead of trying to climb over the mountain, why don’t you try to go around it?” This is what meditation has been teaching me: How to step back, come up with a new plan, and move in a less aggressive, and smarter way.

Once I realized this and started applying this mindset to working out, I finally saw my posture improve, as well as my performance and mobility. When you try to do things with a lot of effort and a lot of stress, you cannot do them fluidly. The tight muscles tend to take over, your breathing pattern becomes compromised, and you start feeling more stress, less wellness.

Once you apply this slow-down approach to your life, you will see improvement. People will pick-up on that positive energy in you. The love and care you apply to yourself results in a wonderful outcome.

These are my words for you. Meanwhile I keep reminding myself.

See you tomorrow at 8am!
