I truly believe exercise is the best, and cheapest treatment for depression. It supports physical, and mental health. Of course it can promote any kind of body you want. Toned, strong, or skinny… But exercise doesn’t do the miracle by itself. What you eat, and how much you eat will make a huge difference in the scale… And a ketogenic diet is the best answer I have for you.
Food intake is something I always struggled my whole life. I overcame decades of eating disorder, to still find myself addicted to carbs… It is crazy how a fruit, a candy, rice, pasta, pizza, ice cream, or a simple fruit bar can unleash a very hungry monster inside of me. I can eat non stop, and I can eat a lot…
Before this wasn’t a huge problem because I was NEVER home. Always teaching around the City, meeting friends, competing in sports, traveling… But since the lockdowns, almost a year ago, the ghost has been knocking on my door… Especially now during winter… I’m working from home, and homeschooling my son. The kitchen keep on calling my name, and it is hard to resist.
This is the main reason why I decided to explore the ketogenic diet again. I have been avoiding carbs, and focusing on healthy fats intake. I start with intermittent fasting (around 12h in between dinner, and breakfast), and I have been trying to eat two meals max. No snacks. At these meals I’m loading in coconut, seeds, and meats. This has been helping a LOT to keep the hunger down. I feel full most of the time. Filled of energy, and healthy. Clear mind, optimistic, and creative.
